Emmanuelle Alt was born in Paris in 1967, where she went to school at the Assomption-Lübeck Institute. At 17 years old, she took her first steps into the fashion industry as a beauty assistant for Elle. Two years later, in 1986, she joined 20 Ans magazine, where she became fashion editor-in-chief in 1993.
Emmanuelle Alt then moved on to become fashion editor-in-chief ofMixte magazine in 1998. After two years at the head of Mixte, she left the magazine for a position at Vogue Paris as a fashion editor. In February 2011, as an experienced magazine editor, Emmanuelle Alt took over as editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, following the departure of Carine Roitfeld.
Emmanuelle Alt lives in Paris with her husband, Franck Durand and her two children.
